Share Joy This Holiday Season!

From now until Dec.

Imagine a massive outdoor supermarket - one where everything is free. Where the groceries are all vegetarian, and the meals are all vegan. Where anyone can walk up, and with no questions asked, no paperwork required, get a brand-new wardrobe, or toys for their kids.

Picture a community that promotes compassion - for all people, animals, and the planet.

On Sunday, November 18th, Community Solidarity invites you to its annual Vegan Thanksgiving Bonanza. It's the world's largest Vegan Thanksgiving! it's free, and anyone in need of food or clothing is welcome! Plus, all are welcome to volunteer.

In 2006 Long Island Food Not Bombs was formed when a group of young dedicated volunteers began sharing vegetarian groceries with their neighbors in need. Long Island Food Not Bombs started with just a few garbage bags of bread and a single folding table.

You're someone who wants take action to end hunger on Long Island. You know the stigma of hunger is alienating and lonesome. You know too many of our brothers and sisters in need of help get overlooked. They're avoided, or feared, by so many who can actually help. You may, or may not, have already realized that you have the ability to help. On this page, I'll show you how to do that.

1. Approximately 283,700 people will suffer from hunger on Long Island at some point this year. Approximately 182,000 people will go hungry on Long Island tonight! 72,980 of those will be children!
